Thank you to everyone who joined us on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Philadelphia Immigrant Innovation Hub in Mt. Airy!
We had approximately 40 educators, education supporters and friends who came together to learn about innovative classroom ideas in need of funding, and enjoy brunch, including delicious soup from Earth + Bread Brewery.
Your ticket sales and a matching grant from PhilaSoup raised $1,150 in support of Philadelphia education!
We heard from four great presenters: Sheila Myers from Julia de Burgos Elementary School won $460 for her project, "Recess Renewal;" in second place, Katheleen Anderson received $345 to fund her "Classroom Cafe," while Antonia Jauregui from Independence Charter School and Alina Taylor from Kensington Urban and Business High School each won $172.50 to fund their projects, "Loving to Read in Spanish" and "Literary Criticisms of 'Street Angel'".
Thank you to everyone who supported Philadelphia education at our final Soup of the 2015-2016 year! We look forward to seeing you again in the fall!
